Learn Reiki for Self-Care at Wallingford Senior Center

Reiki masters Eileen Anderson and Diane Soares are offering a new reiki for self-care workshop series in March at Wallingford Senior Center in Wallingford, Connecticut. In this class, students will learn the uses, benefits, history and precepts of reiki as well as learning and practicing the hand placements for treating yourself. This class will only cover self-treatment, not treatment of others.  For students who want to treat others, another four hours of class time will be offered.

The classes take place on four Thursdays mornings: March 6 from 9:30-11:30 a.m., and March 13, 20 and 27 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The cost is $80 for all four sessions.

“Self-care is a necessity, not a luxury,” says Anderson, reiki master, teacher and practitioner. “Did you know that one could learn reiki to treat oneself for rest, relaxation and stress reduction? Self-reiki can also help with increasing immunity and resilience.”

Anderson combines her reiki practice with her critical care nursing experience. She has been offering reiki sessions and classes at The Wallingford Senior Center for the past nine years. She also teaches and practices at Whole Health Family Medicine in Hamden and The Buttonwood Tree Performing Arts Center in Middletown. Soares has been a reiki practitioner for five years and became a reiki master in 2023. She teaches wellness and meditation classes at the Wallingford Senior Center.
