Laying Our Heart on the Line

The greatest mystery of all is the human heart.
—P. D. James

The heart can be sturdy and weak, faithful and fickle, happy and sad, strong and tired, healed and broken, and so many other juxtaposing feelings. When we are talking about our emotional health, our hearts go through the twists, turns and smooth runs of a rollercoaster in our lifetimes. How do we pay attention, protect ourselves and keep our hearts open? Finding the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual tools to shift and learn and love is key.

As we launch into the second month of 2025, let’s delve into the numerology meaning of the year and you with the 2+0+2+5=9 article from intuitive numerologist, artist, blogger and teacher Greer Jonas. Angela Marie of Intuitive Astrology, a Connecticut-based astrologer with over three decades of experience, writes about cord cutting and other possible healthier ways to heal our heart.

Continuing with hearting our local community (yes, pun intended), a new section about crystals with local practitioners/businesses launches with Sandra Klavins of Cosmic Black Cat writing the first article focused on this month’s central theme. She spotlights crystals with strengthening qualities for our heart chakra.

Other must-read articles in this edition include the benefits of chocolate with some great recipes, metabolic health innovations and more. On the physical side, our fit body section looks at stretching for heart health while another article focuses on hugs’ inspiring and healing influence. Another feature explores more integrative approaches to cardiology. In our Wise Words section, we sit down with Anil Gupta to discuss the “formula” and effects of happiness.

Involve the kids this Valentine’s Day with handmade gifts that everyone should love with some suggestions in our Eco-Tip article. Check out the many businesses and practitioners that support the magazine as you investigate great Valentine’s Day presents for your loved ones. Give them (and yourself) the gift of self-care and growth!
